Rip Carson and the Carcinogenics

Rip Carson is an American singer, musician, and producer from Shawnee Hills, West Virginia. Now a southern transplant based in San Diego, California. He fronted his first band at 12, working his way up in the punk and garage-rock scene before forming his first rockabilly group Rip Carson & the Twilight Trio in 1996. Known for his explosive and unpredictable stage shows, Rip quickly gained international attention and became one of the first artists signed to Rockin’ Ronny Weiser’s Rollin’ Rock Records when he revived the label in the late 90’s. His relentless touring schedule over the next decade, his steady stream of critically acclaimed albums, and his induction into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame at age 21, cemented his status as a major force in modern rockabilly. 

  Aside from his work as a frontman, he also worked closely with legendary producer Mark Neill developing his skills as a studio musician, performing on many popular albums by artists like Deke Dickerson, The Paladins, James Hunter, and The Old 97’s, to name a few. After more than 30 years of playing rock ’n’ roll, Rip continues to bring his unique energy to every show. Also of note in his current permanent lineup is the addition of drummer Becky Russel(Guana Batz, Big Rig Deluxe, Bonneville 7). 

    If there’s one thing you can count on when you catch a live show, it’s that no one knows what Rip is going to do or say next…. Not even him!
